HERE ARE SOME IDEAS, SUGGESTIONS, INSTRUCTIONS

Calculate Dimensions for Your Pouch:
To help determine what the best pouch size will be, drape fabric squares or rectangles over the item(s) that will be stored in the pouch. Try a small towel, or better yet, cut paper towels to standard pouch sizes - 3" x 5" or 5" x 7", etc..
Our general formua for a drawstring pouch width: Determine exact circumference of your item, divide that by two, and then add 1" inch or a bit more. This will be your lining width or an unlined flat pouch width. (For items more than 3/4" thick, you can think about getting a gussetted pouch or case for a more tailored fit.)
Consider that a drawstring pouch is flat (unless gusseted). The depth of your items inside it will take up a considerable amount of the space within the flat pouch, making it not-flat anymore.
Consider also that there are 1/4-inch seams inside most pouches.
AND DO NOT FORGET that if your pouch has a drawstring, the drawstring must gather and close around your item(s).
If you have items of various sizes, you might want to have
two or three different size pouches.

About Deerskin Leather:
Leather, in general, is expensive, sold by the square foot. Our specialty is deerskin products. The wild animal hides that we use are small with a lot of waste - areas with scars from cuts and scratches, bullet or arrow holes, and other flaws, and because the hunters skin them, there may be weak or uneven areas, and irregular edges that must be discarded – no less than 15% waste. But the leather is magnificent in texture, buttery soft, extremely durable, and requires no special care. We buy all our leather bulk wholesale from a few tanneries and wholesale suppliers; weonly stock colors that we normally use. The different tans, browns, and black are regularly available throughout the year. We stock a few other colors like blue, turquoise, red, purple, and forest green, but only in limited quantity.
Selecting Style:
Handstitching is the most expensive. If you are selecting a handstitched pouch or one with some handstitching, please limit your order to 10 pieces and allow at least one week, two weeks for larger orders and large items.
Embossing (hand drawn/burning): We will do some artwork and lettering for you, but the amount must be limited. This kind of work is always Oh!Boyd style. Prices vary.
Beadwork and Painting: We make custom bead-embroidered and/or painted leather patches to fit most any pouch. You can specify animals, birds, flowers, etc. , This kind of work is always in the Oh!Boyd style. Prices vary.
Machine sewn pouches are always double stitched with additional reinforcement stitching at the pouch lip to ensure long wear.
Double drawstrings make an attractive gather, plus if loosely tied, make a secure closure without any bead locks.
Single drawstrings are adequate for most pouches; if single drawstrings are cut extra long, the pouch can be secured closed and the extra length can be wrapped around the pouch for extra security and an attractive old-fashioned look.
Drawstring Locks: Most Oh!Boyd pouches come with drawstrings with bead or matching leather “locks”. Simply slide the bead along the drawstring to close or open the pouch. Thicker drawstrings usually come with glass crow bead or pewter bead locks. Thinner drawstrings come with stone or metal bead locks. Handstitched leather locks, antler beads, and our own woodburned handmade beads are also options.
Additional decorative beads can be added to the drawstrings and drawstring ends, and simple bead decorations can also be added to pouches.
Hardware, Straps, etc.: Clip-ons, loops, straps, key rings, tying thongs, etc. can be added to pouches.
If your pouch contents contains silver, you might consider having your Oh!Boyd pouch lined with anti-tarnish cloth. The soft fabric liner is sewn into your pouch to greatly extend time between silver cleaning.
